8 reasons not book it yourself
- A personal expert instead of a booking platformYou work with a dedicated person who knows these hotels and takes responsibility for the outcome. Booking platforms display options; we take responsibility for the choice.
- Hotels personally inspectedWe know from personal experience where it is truly quiet, where the reef is alive and where reaching your villa means a twenty-minute walk in the heat. You will not find this in the hotel's website description.
- Contract rateDirect agreements with hotels at fixed rates. In 90% of cases, prices are lower than when booking independently.
- A package of premium extrasPrivileges worth up to RUB 50,000 that the hotel does not offer for direct bookings.
- No hidden chargesIn the Seychelles, a nightly tourism levy, ferry, domestic flight or helicopter transfers and a New Year's Eve gala dinner, compulsory at some hotels, are added to the room price. We calculate the total from the outset, so there are no surprises during your stay.
- A fixed proposal and free reselectionThe agreed price does not change. If an option is unsuitable, we select alternatives at no extra charge, with no limit on the number of revisions.
- Your individual requests to the hotelWe submit requests to the hotel and follow up on fulfilment: room location, floor, bed type, adjacent rooms, a cot, allergies, diet, celebrations and specific transfer requirements.
- ConfidentialityYour trip details, travelling party and itinerary are discussed only with you. We can sign a non-disclosure agreement if needed.

Why we do things this way
My name is Lev, and I founded R-U Travel. I spent twenty years travelling and working in tourism, personally experiencing thousands of hotels. The agency grew out of that experience: we describe hotels through what we have seen ourselves, rather than through a brochure.
It is easy to choose the wrong route in the Seychelles. A beach that looks like a postcard in April is exposed to the trade wind in July; the last ferry to Praslin leaves during the day, and helicopters do not fly after sunset. That is why we match the island to your month and flight, and have spent years building direct relationships with hotels. This brings contract rates, extras and issues resolved with a single call.
I want each of our guests to be treated as I would wish to be treated: without fuss, with attention to details you notice only when they are missing. I personally take responsibility for keeping the agreed proposal unchanged, and for ensuring that, whenever you have a question, someone who knows your trip answers it.

Common questions before your trip
When is the best time to visit the Seychelles?
It is warm year-round, but two winds shape the weather. From November to March, the north-west monsoon brings hotter, more humid conditions, with most rain in December and January but calm seas. From May to September, the south-east trade wind takes over. It is drier and cooler, but windy, especially in July and August, with waves on exposed coasts.
The best times to visit are April and October, when the winds change and ease, and May, when prices are lower. New Year and Easter are the most expensive dates. From October to March, hawksbill turtles come ashore to lay eggs, peaking in November and December.
How long is the flight, and are there direct flights?
An Aeroflot direct flight from Moscow to Mahé takes around nine hours; the return takes roughly half an hour longer. Connections via Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha are also available. These take longer but offer more choice of departure times and cabin classes.
For connections, your arrival time on Mahé matters: ferries and helicopters operate only during the day, and a late flight can mean a night on Mahé.
Do I need a visa?
No. A visitor's permit is issued free on arrival for up to three months. You need a passport valid for the entire trip, a return ticket, hotel booking confirmation and funds of at least USD 150 per day.
Before departure, each traveller needs an electronic Travel Authorisation from the official website seychelles.govtas.com; the standard fee is EUR 10. We send the link and remind you of the deadlines.
How do you get from the airport to the hotel?
All international flights arrive on Mahé. Hotels on Mahé are around half an hour away by car, with a further 15 minutes by speedboat to Sainte Anne Marine Park's islands. Praslin is 15 minutes away by Air Seychelles flight or around an hour by ferry; the ferry from Praslin to La Digue takes another 15 minutes. Private islands are reached by a domestic flight of 20 minutes to an hour, or a helicopter flight of 15–35 minutes.
Ferries and helicopters operate only during the day: the last ferry from Mahé to Praslin departs at 16:30, helicopters fly from sunrise to sunset, and private-island flights follow each island's schedule. For late arrivals, we book a night on Mahé in advance and include it in the price, with transfers included in the proposal from the outset.
How many islands can I visit in one trip?
Most often two: Mahé or Praslin with trips to neighbouring islands, and a few days on La Digue or a private island. Mahé to Praslin takes 15 minutes by air or around an hour by ferry; Praslin to La Digue takes 15 minutes.
Each move takes half a day once hotel departure and timetables are taken into account, so we do not recommend more than three islands in a week. We combine the itinerary, ferries and flights in one proposal.
Can I travel with children?
Yes, but hotels vary considerably. Some have a kids' club, nanny service and a gently shelving beach; others have no children's programmes. Consider the kids' club's minimum age, two-bedroom villas and the length of the journey from the airport.
With young children, hotels on Mahé and in Sainte Anne Marine Park are more convenient: no ferries, helicopters or connections. On small aircraft to private islands, children need their own seat from age two, while children aged 12 and under do not pay the tourism levy. We select hotels with the children's ages in mind.
What is included in the price, and what costs extra?
The price usually includes accommodation, your chosen meal plan and taxes. The following are most often charged separately:
- Transfers: car, ferry, domestic flight or helicopter
- A tourism levy of 75 or 100 rupees per person per night, depending on the hotel's size
- Drinks when booking breakfast only or half board
- À la carte restaurant dinners, spa, diving and speedboat excursions
- Nature reserve entrance fees, such as Vallée de Mai on Praslin
- A New Year's Eve gala dinner, compulsory at some hotels
We calculate the total with all compulsory items from the outset, so there are no surprises during your stay.
What is the tourism levy?
From 1 January 2026, the environmental tourism levy is 75 rupees per person per night at hotels with 25–50 rooms, and 100 rupees at larger hotels, island resorts and yachts. Small hotels are exempt, and children aged 12 and under do not pay.
The levy is paid locally at the hotel. We include it in the quote from the outset so the total is final.
How much does a holiday in the Seychelles cost?
In our hotel selection, nightly rates start at USD 300 at small hotels on Praslin and La Digue, USD 350 on Mahé, USD 500 on private islands and USD 3,500 on North Island. These are indicative 'from' rates excluding transfers, meals and the tourism levy. Prices are higher over holidays and in high season.
Within 4 hours, your expert will send a selection with the total for your dates, including transfers, meals and the levy.
Is all-inclusive worth choosing?
All-inclusive is less common in the Seychelles than in the Maldives: most hotels offer breakfast or half board. It is available at some resorts, such as Club Med, while private islands often include meals in the price. Mahé, Praslin and La Digue also have restaurants outside the hotels, so half board is often better value. We price both options and show the difference.
Why are your prices lower?
We have direct agreements with hotels and work without intermediaries. We also obtain guest privileges that hotels do not offer for independent bookings.
Can I pay from a company bank account?
Yes. We work with both individuals and legal entities and provide a full set of documents.
What if my plans change?
Cancellation terms depend on the hotel and dates: they are stricter in high season, over Easter and New Year, and some private islands impose minimum stays over holidays. We explain the exact terms before booking.
